I'm a RITA finalist! Twice!

That would be RITA, there on the left.  We romance writers all covet RITA.  She's the tops awards-wise in our industry.  She's our Oscar, our Emmy, our Golden Globe.  Only better.  Because she's RITA.  We all dream of someday winning at least one of these golden beauties.

I have yet to win a RITA.  But hope springs eternal and every year I enter every book I have published that year.   Before today, I've finaled three times: in 1992 for my Silhouette Desire, MIDSUMMER MADNESS, in 1999 for my Silhouette Single Title, THE TAMING OF BILLY JONES and then in 2007 for my Silhouette Special Edition, MARRIED IN HASTE. The calls go out in the last week of March and I'm telling you, it never gets old to get one of those calls.

This morning, I did get one of those calls.  From Series Romance Category coordinator, Tracy Garrett.  Tracy informed me that not one, but TWO of my 2011 books had made the finals this year!  I'm thrilled.  Excited.  Walking on air.  Maybe I'll win this year.  That would be fabulous.  I must say, though, being a finalist is pretty cool in itself!

And so is....

Back Cover Copy--and Finished....

What did I finish?  The first of the Bravo Royale series.  Very fun.  Different.  But still plenty of Bravo family goings-on.  The first book will be called THE PRINCE'S SECRET BABY.  It was especially fun because in this secret baby story, it's the hero, Rule Bravo-Calabretti, who knows that the little boy is his.  The heroine--the boy's mother--has no clue.  Figure that one out.  ;)

And got my back cover copy for the November book, A BRAVO HOMECOMING:

THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT OF ALL TIME?

Travis Bravo was sick of his meddling mother and her matchmaking ways. So what better way to stop her than to bring a fiancĂ©e home for the holidays? One catch—
he wasn’t even dating anyone. But that was where his rough-and-tumble oil-rig friend, Samantha Jaworski, came in.

An unpolished tomboy, Sam was game for anything for a good friend. But after her girlfriend-ready makeover, she fell easily into the role of Travis’s loving partner—
and into his arms. Would she be standing under his mistletoe…for keeps?

                                                                               ***

This one will be out in Mid-October.  And now you can pre-order it for your kindle on Amazon, just like you can preorder a paperback copy.  I like it when readers can get the book they want in the format they prefer!

New Cover November Release!

Found this on Amazon today.  Great surprise.  I so love it.  The heroine, Sam Jaworski, is a tool pusher on an oil rig who gets a Cinderella Makeover and Travis Bravo!

Had such fun writing this one--well, okay.  I have such fun writing every one of my books!

Bad Bloggers Anonymous...

I think I'm a lifetime member.  See, we moved.  Halfway across the country.  This past Christmas.  We got into our new house on...wait for it.  Christmas Eve!

Didn't even try and put up the the tree.  So sad.  But the good news is, there's always going to be Christmas again.  So here's to this coming holiday season.

But the house is coming together and I'm slowly digging out from under my current deadline.  Soon, I should be back here to visit more often.

Life is good. The daffodils are poking their heads up through the snow.  I'm looking forward to a fabulous spring..

Right now, I'm writing the last fifty pages of Travis Bravo's story.  That's the final installment in the San Antonio Bravo series.  It's called A BRAVO HOMECOMING, and will be on stands in November.  A holiday love story.  Always fun.  This is a makeover story and a story about coming home.

And then I'm on to an online short story for eHarlequin.  A Montana Mavericks tale to promote RESISTING MR TALL, DARK AND TEXAN, the launch book for a new Montana Mavericks series, which will be available in July.  And the online read will start on June 13th, I believe.  A chapter a week for eight weeks. I'll keep you posted on that.

So...hope your Valentine's Day was fabulous and romantic and that there was chocolate.

And now, back to that deadline....
